Nina & Cookie is an atypical children storybook that combines ancient techniques with new technologies. Interactive books, such as pop-up and movable books, have functioned as great experiences throughout history by providing memorable 3-dimensional outlooks to the reader. To enrich the book experience a mobile app was created, that uses artificial intelligence techniques of image recognition to deliver background music and sound effects. As the child moves the phone and plays with the shadows our app delivers sounds effects sensible to the movement of the phone and background music to engage the reader in Nina & Cookie ’s world.
→Problem: To create an interactive installation using technology and space that reflects current trends in digital contemporary art and the emergence of digital art practices.
→Solution: Interactive children’s book that uses motion silhouette and comes with an app that uses artificial intelligence (image recognition with the use of markers) to enhance the experience.
